A base map built for editing, not just viewing

Map Builder’s actual differentiator is a true vector SVG export — named layers, real text, scalable paths — not a flat image. That matters for site-context maps meant to be edited further in Illustrator or dropped into a board, not just looked at.

Strip it down to what the diagram needs

The Style tree lets you hide entire categories — turn off labels, minor roads, or points of interest with one click per row — so a site-context map shows only the landscape, water, and road network relevant to the analysis.

Recolor for legibility, not decoration

Every feature’s fill, stroke, and opacity is independently editable, so contrast and hierarchy in a diagram are a deliberate choice, not whatever a basemap vendor picked.

Add your own site elements

Draw building footprints, property lines, or study-area boundaries with the Overlay tab’s Rectangle, Polygon, or freehand Shape tools, plus Text for callouts and dimensions — everything is editable node-by-node afterward.

Export as a true vector

SVG export includes named layers and real text (not outlined paths), so it opens cleanly in Illustrator or Inkscape for further work — the actual reason this app exists instead of just recoloring a Google Maps screenshot.
